A storyteller at heart, Matt’s music speaks to the soul, with tales of life, love, hardship, and redemption. Having shared the stage with artists including K’Naan, Tom Cochrane, Jim Cuddy, The Trews, Cowboy Junkies, 5440 and Sam Roberts, Matt Zaddy’s intention is to connect with as many listeners as possible, regardless of any genre restrictions.

Matt's music certainly possesses everything to achieve that goal in a big way, and to place Matt Zaddy squarely in the conversation about Canada’s most promising singer/songwriters.

Matt released his single What Comes Around in late June 2023 as a follow up his award winning 2019 album Be, with Canadian dates in support of the release. The song has been added to radio internationally in Ten countries, has over 160k YouTube views and has been added to 500+ Spotify Playlists.

Matt's single, Far Too Long, was released Nov. 20, 2024 on all digital platforms. It has been added to 1,487 independent Spotify playlists.

Zaddy is presently writing a new album, with singles to be released in late 2026 followed by the full album in 2027 with national touring.

Far Too Long marks a pivotal moment in Zaddy’s career as he delves into the struggle of finding balance between work, music, and personal life.

Far Too Long draws inspiration from a personal realization Zaddy had while balancing his demanding day job and a music schedule, working over 80 hours a week between the two. Little did he know he was reaching some kind of a breaking point. After a conversation with his younger brother, who asked about his week, Zaddy realized he had lost a week of his life to burnout. This moment of self-awareness led to the track’s creation. Zaddy worked with JUNO-nominated and Emmy Award-winning producer Ross Citrullo to bring it to life with a live off the floor recording approach.

I’ve always believed that music has the power to connect us. This song speaks to my own struggles with balance – between work, music, family, and friends. I think we’ve all been there at some point, and sometimes it takes hitting a wall to realize we need to make a change.
